"The Mind of the Lord"
Romans 11:33-36

Recently we had some friends over for dinner and the discussion turned to the subject of the Internet. It was a fascinating subject that I knew very little about so I listened with great interest to the person who was telling us that the Internet covers virtually every known subject known to man in almost every language-and that there are web sites and web pages that few will ever go to simply because most internet browsers don't even know that they exist. Such a depth and treasure of information, I thought. Almost anything you need to know is right at your fingertips and you don't even need to leave your house. Will this make libraries redundant? Maybe not, but its mind boggling to think of the advances in technology that we have enjoyed just in the last two-three years. Because of the Internet, we will see the access to the knowledge that we have increase exponentially in just six months through the J-curve effect.

Statisticians tell us through the J-curve effect, that if a certain thing is mulitiplying, the factor will multiply exponentially in a proportionately shorter period of time than it did when it was first starting to multiply. Man could indeed be impressed with himself over this accomplishment, and yet there is already a greater, infinitely vast resource of knowledge and wealth man so often over looks-God. I was happy that my friend said that when he was trying to tackle a problem at work involving the Internet, he prayed and asked God to help him. "If something exists on this planet," he said, "God knows about it, is so much bigger than it, and knows how to fix it. The Internet has already gotten so large that no one single person can know everything about it-not even Bill Gates. Nobody except God!"

How right he was! And this is supported in Scripture. Romans 11:33-34 says "Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgements and His ways past finding out! For who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has become His counselor?"

If God is greater than the Internet, just imagine what He can do in your life if you are struggling with a situation that is not nearly so far-reaching. You can turn to Him "For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever, Amen."

Have a blessed day!
