New Years day is the time we make
Resolutions for the coming new year.
Sometimes we don't keep them
But sometimes we hold them dear.
We normally try to change the things
We don't like about ourselves.
But sometimes we vow to do a chore
Like painting an old set of shelves.
This year I think I'll be different
Think I'll try a different style.
I'll find what makes people happy
Some things that make people smile.
On these things I will concentrate
And I'll do them more every day.
Maybe I'll make others happy
And help to bring sunshine their way.
More often, I'll say please and thank you
And I'll try to be more patient too.
I'll try to be kind and forgiving
The way Jesus taught us to do.
I'll tell my family I love them
And how much they all mean to me.
I'll tell everyone about Jesus
And how His love set us all free.
Have The Happiest New Year Ever!
