Who's Strength?

We don't always have to be strong to be strong. Sometimes our strength is expressed in being vulnerable. Sometimes we need to come to the point where we fall apart to realize where our strength really comes from. Our strength comes from above. And once this is realized we then can move on.

We all have days when we cannot go another step. We cannot push any harder, cannot hold back self-doubt, cannot stop focusing on fear, cannot be strong.

There are days when we cannot focus on being responsible. Occasionally, we don't want to get out of our pajamas. Sometimes we cry in front of people. We expose our wearyness, irritability, or anger. Those days are inevitable..they're uniquely human.

Part of understanding who we are in Christ, means we can allow ourselves permission to "fall apart" when we need to. We do not need to be perpetual towers of strength. God gives us strength. He has proven that. He's all that we need and more.

With Him we can continue on even when we are weak. Sometimes we need to experience those feelings. If we allow ourselves the courage to feel scared and vulnerable, we learn to rely on God, for He is our source of strength.

Lord, help me to know that is it okay to allow myself to be human. Help me not to feel guilty or punish myself when I need to "fall apart". Help me to realize that my strength lies in You. Today, if I am weak...You are strong. If I fail...You're there to love me. If I let myself down...You have the strength to pick me up. Help me to rely on You for my strength and may Your magnificent promises become manifest in my life today!

In Jesus name, Amen

Isaiah 40:28-31

40:28 Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth Does not become weary or tired. His understanding is inscrutable.

40:29 He gives strength to the weary, And to him who lacks might He increases power.

40:30 Though youths grow weary and tired, And vigorous young men stumble badly,

40:31 Yet those who wait for the Lord Will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary.
