For the word of
God
[is] quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing
even
to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow,
and
[is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart (Hebrews 4:12).
God once gave me the thought to describe the Bible as His letter, written
to
us when we were far away and did not really know who He was--written as a
way
to get us aquatinted with Him, and teach us more about who He is. Even
after
reading the Bible for many years and countless hours, it is still amazing
to
me how God continues to reveal Himself to me in ways I had never imagined.
It
is wonderful how God continues to use His letters to us to inspire, teach
and
draw us to Him no matter how many times we read a familiar verse or
passage.
As Christians, we sometimes find ourselves getting
little
or nothing out of our daily reading. The best thing we can do when this
happens is to pray and ask God to make His Word fresh and new to us. Ask
Him
to show you what you can do to bring back the joy of reading His Word.
He
wants you to get all you can from reading His letter to you because, as we
are well aware, there is still so much more of Him for us to know--and so
much more of Himself that He wants to share.
Pray. Ask for Him to renew His Word. And keep reading. You will soon begin
to
discover new wonders of God's person.
So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return
unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall
prosper [in the thing] whereto I sent it (Isaiah 55:11).
the insight God provides
to me, it is a mystery
encased in Holy expectation.
revealing truth through written word
of God, this is a simple task.

complicating matters
i still struggle.
i somehow turn simplicity around
and find that complication
is simpler to me--
--or so it seems.
Thank God that I am not alone.
for there are none
who know the mind of God.
But there are those
who still aspire
to see His Word anew.
