1997-1998 Administrative Assistant to the Pastor (Bi-Vocational),
Bryant Street Baptist Church, Yucaipa, CA

Called by the Church to assist the new Senior Pastor in an administrative/ assistant capacity to facilitate transition. The position required that I possess the experience and the skill to manage the day-to-day affairs of the church, primarily from an organizational or business perspective. I was the in-office hub, or conduit of communication between various church related issues (as they arose), and the committees and/or leaders overseeing the ministries to which the issue would relate. I worked closely with the Pastor to coordinate those ministries of the church not already delegated to a committee or ministry leader. This included the coordination and/or participation in hospital visitation and in-reach /outreach visitation. Performed, and/ or assisted in weddings, funerals, and baptisms, as requested. Prepared and preached sermons and led various services as assigned by the pastor. Coordinated music for the Sunday mornings worship services, Sunday evening worship and the Mid-week service. Organized and directed Vacation Bible Ship, the summer VBS. program, which had an average attendance of 55 children (ages 3 through 12) with the help of 30 volunteer workers, over a six-week period. Led personal witness training program- "People Sharing Jesus, ". Developed "Outreach 97", a comprehensive visitation and witnessing program to augment "Celebrate Jesus 2000".

1996-1997 Interim Administrator (Bi-Vocational), Bryant Street Baptist Church

When the Senior Pastor was called to a new church start in San Diego, I was called as Interim Administrator to provide general oversight and administrative leadership for the church as an organization. Coordinated programs and schedules with church leadership and staff for the development, enhancement and implementation of the church's stated mission. Being as the Interim Pastor was from Hesperia and was on the field Wednesday afternoons and Sunday mornings, I preached the scheduled Sunday evening services. I was available to preach/ or preached at other scheduled services. Provided individual pastoral counsel. Provided individual and group leadership counsel. Performed baptisms, wedding ceremonies, and funeral services. Coordinated and/or participated in hospital visitation, in-reach and outreach visitation.

EMPLOYMENT - SECULAR EXPERIENCE

1997- 2002   Support Manager, Redlands Wal-Mart

Secured a full-time position at Wal-Mart to supplement other income, being as the part-time salary at the church and glasswork proved to be insufficient to meet our needs. Responsibilities: to assist the store manager.

1989-1998 Owner, Yucaipa Glass & Mirror Co.

Purchased an established retail glass shop to be available to spend more time with my family. I performed all the functions of an active Owner/Operator with employees. The Company's sales tripled within 180 days and maintained or surpassed those levels until I was called into ministry.

1987-1989 Vice President, General Manager, American Safety Glass Inc.

Started up North American operations for this corporation. The Company eventually became a major player in the flat glass industry. Hordis Bros.Inc. acquired the company after I left the company to purchase Yucaipa Glass. Primarily wholesale distribution and manufacturing of a new process in laminated safety glass.

1985-1987 General Manager/ Sales Manager (Flat Glass Division), Solaglas USA, Inc.

Managed the Flat Glass Division for this South African based corporation. Responsible for 3 West Coast Distribution Centers. Member of Executive Strategy Committee. Performed all acquisition studies for the division. Managed flat glass sales force, inside and outside sales. *ACI Glass Products, Inc later acquired the division.

1976-1985 Vice President, General Manager, California Glass Distributors, Inc.

Started with this company in my second year out of high school and worked up the ranks to eventually become the corporation's Vice President and General Manager. I was entirely accountable for the profitability of the corporation. Required to maintain a 25% return on investment. Attained or surpassed that goal every year. *ACI America Inc., a large Australian conglomerate, eventually acquired the company.

Note to the reader.... God has blessed me in many ways. He has always equipped and enabled me for any task at hand. He gave me a wealth of experience and then used that same administrative, evangelistic and ministerial experience to serve Him when His church was in need. For that I am eternally thankful and blessed. He is continually working in my life to further equip me to serve Him and He recently confirmed His calling to me. I have an incredible burden and desire to reach Canada for Christ. We have followed His call to the Canadian Southern Baptist Seminary to continue my seminary education. I know that He'll direct us and pave the pathway to join Him in His work. He has answered prayer and opened the door to missions work in Alberta and seminary study. Thus, I will continue to serve Him wherever He calls, by His will, for His church, and in His perfect timing...

*ACI now known as ACI Distribution
