I grew up in a wonderful Christian home. For as early as I can remember my
parents would take us to church and Sunday school on Sundays. We would attend
most of the functions that the church would have throughout the week. I have
fond memories of those days. Memories of Vacation Bible School, Sunday school,
Church camp in the summer and all that time I was learning and hearing about
Jesus. My parents would often talk about Jesus and what He was doing in their
lives.
I had heard many times and I had seen how Jesus had changed people's lives.
And even though I wasn't a terrible kid, I still knew that something was still
missing in my life. One day my Sunday school teacher showed me how I could have
what was missing in my life. I was about eight years old when I made a life
changing decision. And when I made that wonderful decision, I had a life
changing experience.
To this day, my life has never been the same. The Bible became real to me and
I was able to understand it. I had a joy and a peace and a feeling of security
that was beyond words. I knew then what I had been missing and what I had only
seen before in other people's lives. God continued to teach and guide me in all
of my ways.
But there was a time in my life, (my late teens), when I rebelled against God
and didn't follow His will for my life. It was only when I repented and
re-dedicated my life to Christ that He really started to use me in a wonderful
way. I guess the most astonishing thing that has happened to me was when
God called me into ministry for Him. And since then I have been blessed and
privileged to serve Him as a minister of the gospel. He continues to make
my life complete and I am really looking forward to what He has in store for us
all.
Knowing Jesus as my personal Savior and Lord is the best thing that has
ever happened to me and if you don't know Him in that same way, I urge you
to check out our page called Knowing Jesus and check it out for yourself.
You see, I know without a shadow of a doubt that if something were to happen to
me right now, if I were to die, I know that I would be with Him and live forever
with Him in heaven. It's a feeling of peace you'll never understand until you
take that step of faith yourself and receive Him as your personal Savior and
Lord. He's calling you to come to Him... I hope you'll answer His call.
God bless you...
In Christ,
Mike Bishop
